I have two dogs and worry about stains and odor. My carpet needs to be cleaned often. I want to do it myself-not hire someone. Is it better to shampoo or steam clean a carpet?
I would definately only steam clean it, when you shampoo carpet, the shampoo builds up a residue that ends up attracting MORE dirt than before you started!
The key to steam cleaning carpet is to get a machine that FULLY extracts the excess water and make sure water in machine is not TOO hot, as it will shrink some carpet fibers and make your carpet look matted.
Odor should come out with a steam cleaning, otherwise you can always use a odor enzyme spray and add it to the water. Is it better to shampoo or steam clean a carpet?
I would steam clean if I were you because of your two dogs.
steam cleaning is better...shampooing will leave a residue in the carpet...you can buy spot cleaners for a steam machine to use on stains that will not leave soap in the carpet ...soap attracts dirt faster
Someone once told me that if you use soap on carpet, it never comes clean afterward. Once it is dried, the soap residue remains sticky (although you won't feel it sticky), so dirt actually sticks to it even though you will vacuum regularly. When I clean my carpet, I boil water and put that into the machine but use NO soap. It always comes out looking great and I know that it is clean and there is no residue left behind.
if u have a dollar general near by then go get a bottle of mean-green. i know the place is cheap to buy rom but this stuff is great to do alot of cleaning with read the directions on the bottle ( gallon size) for carpet care . believe me it does work.
it is better shampoo because steaming takes to long

Well, Herbal Essence has a whole line of products called ';Dangerously Straight'; that you can pick up at like CVS. If you want your hair to be PIN straight i reccomend using the products with a ceramic flat iron. I ave the same kind of hair and thats what worked for me! Also, If you need it there is a video on Herbal Essence that shows you the perfect way to straighten hair (but it involves a flat iron.) Here is the link for Dangerously Straight

What is the best shampoo for both straight and curly hair?
I have curly semi curly hair and straighten it often and sometimes I wear it curly depending on the weather. I dont want to have to buy two different kinds of shampoo and conditioners. What is the best shampoo products for both? What is the best shampoo for both straight and curly hair?
anything organic...never use the junk w/ chemicals in them:)What is the best shampoo for both straight and curly hair?
Because you straighten it and because you'll want sleek bouncy curls I'd go with a moisturizing shampoo. No need for two different shampoos or conditioners. So I'd suggest either Biolage or Kerastase. Biolage being the cheaper of the too. Biolage is sold at Target and other drug stores as well as beauty supply stores. Kerastase is sold mainly at hair salons. I have also seen it at Nordstrom Rack for alot cheaper.
Hope this helps.
SUAVE!!!!

What is a good shampoo and conditioner combo to make my hair curly?
My hair is naturally curly and sometimes gets ringlets. Then, I got 2.5 inches cut off and now they are gone? What is a good shampoo and conditioner to get my hair curly? I am open to other remedies. What is a good shampoo and conditioner combo to make my hair curly?
Well I use redken (the gold bottle) It's kinda expensive but it gets your hair curly, or you could get a curling iron. What is a good shampoo and conditioner combo to make my hair curly?
that's odd....usually cutting the hair makes it more prone to body because the weight isn't pulling it down as much. you should probably know that shampoo and conditioner won't MAKE your hair a certain, it just preps the hair for a certain type of styling. this being said- you should by a shampoo/conditioner formulated for curling. my preference is redken products.
leave ur hair straight, stop trying to be fake like all the other bitches

How do I use shampoo without getting my hair tangled?
Whenever I shampoo my hair in the shower I use a lot and get it all lathered up and bunch it all ontop of my head and rub my hands in circular motions. Then I rinse it and it gets really tangled. I have thick hair so I use a lot of shampoo. I'm wondering will shampoo do the same thing if I use it like conditioner? By just running it through hmy hair without lathering it all up?How do I use shampoo without getting my hair tangled?
brush your hair before you get in the shower and still clean your hair in circular motions but after run ur fingers through it quickly and then condition. after you get out of the shower brush your hair immedaitely. this routine almost always works for me should you should be good. How do I use shampoo without getting my hair tangled?
when i take a shower i have a brush in my shower, and i brush my hair while the shampoo and conditor is in. I get out of the shower and my hair is silky smooth and no tangles!!
aight i hoped i helped
*stay classy*
i also have very thick hair try a shampoo for kids with a detangler in it or they also make sprays with detangler in it that you use when hair is dry don't use alot of shampoo more doesn't clean better than less
yeah, the difference is conditioner, its time to start using it, i had that problem, bought conditioner, and never had that problem again!!! plus it makes your hair alot softer.
dont pile it on top of your hair, it will get it tangled. and use both shampoo and conditioner, the shampoo cleans the the conditioner detangles
i think while your washing your hair try combing it with your fingers and it will help
use your shampoo like you always do, but afterward use a conditoner and that way it will untangle itself.
you could use selson salon or loreal they both work but i would prefer loreal 'cause it works really really good. when you get out of the shower don't dry it at all, just put a towel under it and brush really easy while your blow drying it. well good luck finding a solution!!!!!
first of all, what kind of shampoo are you using?? the best kind to get is a salon kind, not a store bought kind, because those really will get your hair tangled(believe me, been there done that) i'd advise using Redkin, amazing shampoo and conditioner, its pricey but worth it in the end.
same problems here
i use herbal essences and then in the shower
i use a brush before i wash it and after [while in the shower]
i aslo use paulmitchell leave in conditioner after i get out
why don you try it!!
brush your hair prior to shampooing trust me it works.
i posed this very question to my stylist the other week (because it happened to me too) and this is what she said/recommended:
stop wetting my hair before applying shampoo....
apparently hair absorbs 80% of the moisture from the water prior to shampooing... which is why the application of shampoo will dry your hair out prior to the end of the shower (hense tangling).
instead, splash enough water on your hair to get a good lather started... then work the lather through the rest of your dry hair.
essentially -- dry shampooing
you should do this for two weeks and your hair should have a radically different feel after showering/shampooing.
in the beginning, feel free to use a detangler INSTEAD of a conditioner in order to work out any tangles. this is because your hair is still reacting to its previous treatment and needs time to adjust to its new routine. secondly, the application of conditioner merely to relieve hair of its tangles may over-condition your hair/scalp.
good luck to you! =)

What is the best shampoo for dry color treated blonde hair?
I have long blonde highlighted hair. I just want a good shampoo and conditioner that smells really good and makes your hair soft and shiney. What is the best shampoo for dry color treated blonde hair?
I would try the new L'Oreal EverPure line. They are 100% vegan, smell really good (like mint and other herbs like rosemary), and make your hair really soft (IMO). Also, since they don't have any chemicals in them, they won't fade your hair as fast. I know, I sound like a commercial, but I love the stuff! What is the best shampoo for dry color treated blonde hair?

What is a good shampoo to use daily to protect my hair from chlorine after swimming?
I swim up to 5 days a week and wash my hair every day. My hair is becoming brittle with all this. Could anyone help me out with suggestions on what type of shampoo and/or conditioner I should be using?
Thank youWhat is a good shampoo to use daily to protect my hair from chlorine after swimming?
I swim so I know how chlorine can damage your hair. My hair became so brittle at one point it started falling out. I now where a hair cap which doesn't keep my hair completely dry but my hair is less exposed to the chlorine. I advise you to rinse your hair straight after swimming so the chlorine doesn't take full effect. Use frizz ease or any other shampoo that reduces frizz so when you brush less hair will fall out. If possible try to wash your hair less often because when you wash your hair you loose minerals. :)

How often should I shampoo my hair and how often should I wash it?
I've heard that you shouldn't wash it too often to avoid drying it out, but this mean shampooing it or even getting it wet in the shower? How often should I shampoo my hair and how often should I wash it?
I think you should shower and wash your hair every day.
If not, it could get greasy and look really disgusting. Most people wash their's every day (i do) and its still really healthy. How often should I shampoo my hair and how often should I wash it?
You should shower and wash your hair everyday.
Depending on your style, and how greasy your hair is, maybe a little more, maybe a little less.
I have extremely greasy and oily hair, so I wash mine 1-2 times a day.
If you have a hairstyle that involves spikes or gel or something similar, say liberty spikes, having oily hair can actually help to style it sometimes. Note the emphasis on ';sometimes.';
I shampoo my hair every other day so it doesn't dry and keep some waves my hair naturally has ^_^ But you know your hair better than anyone else, maybe yours is greasy so you'd have to wash it more often because greasy hair looks bad :) mine is more dried.
Just wetting ur hair is fine, i wet my hair everyday because i have curly hair and its not dried out. Only you know ur hair best. I was mine every 2-3 days because my hair doesnt get oily fast. so depending how oily ur hair is. But if u want to be safe i would suggest every other day.
I shampoo my hair every other day. My hairstylists told me to. And it means to not shampoo it everyday. If you have oily scalp you can wash it with conditioner only on the days you don't shampoo it.
Wash t every other day. that avoids it geting dried out.

Tropiclean products are great. They have a blueberry facial scrub that works wonders..Yes it's tear free..They even have a spa line a products..I use there products in my grooming salon it's a non soap based shampoo gentle and it's not drying to the dogs skin..Any one of there shampoo would be fine

for daily cleaning around the face, try baby wipes, easy to use and easy on him. for bathing, again, keep it simple, add baby shampoo to the bath water (which should be cool water), make it a bubble bath, put him in, after he has been brushed, soak him down, gently rub, then rinse well. After the bath, spray him with a leave in conditioner, and blow dry, brushing the hair as you dry it.
you should not have to bathe your dog unless he has been rolling in animal feaces or dirt or has fleas etc. For washing his face just used boiled, cooled water and cotton wool pads. Use a pad for each eye to stop cross contamination. Johnsons do do an under eye lotion for dogs if he tends to get runny eyes.
If you really need to bathe him use a puppy shampoo that you can get from your pet store. Human shampoos can be harsh on the dogs coat.
We use generic BABY SHAMPOO on our cats and dogs. It does not irritate their skin if it's not all rinsed off. Sometime we put in a little fabric softener or hair conditioner too. We have a dog that likes to roll in dead things and horse manure and this treatment kills the smell without irritation. DO NOT pour the softener directly onto the animal. DILUTE about two teaspoons into a gallon of water and then put it on the animal before rinsing. Does wonders for their coats too.revlon color

What is the best shampoo for naturally curly hair that is also color treated?
I have naturally curly hair that I get colored every couple of months and I'm wondering if there is a good shampoo and conditioner out there made for both? I have found shampoo's made for curly hair and for color treated, but never for both combined. If not, which would be best to use? What is the best shampoo for naturally curly hair that is also color treated?
I also have naturally curly hair and color it regularly and so far Pantene has been the one to work. Most of the Pantene products work very well to smooth and protect color treated hair. There's one that specifies it smoothes but it's also safe for color treated. I usually use a flat iron to straighten mine and the products also protect from heat damage.
Hope this helps. What is the best shampoo for naturally curly hair that is also color treated?
No need to bother with all the brand name shampoos, they just don't work.
Just use Johnson%26amp;Johnson's Baby Shampoo... it'll decrease friziness and will have no negative effect on the color. This is mainly because the pH of the shampoo itself is rather neutral.
try garnier fruitise, works great......But not sure if i spelled it right....
use l'oreal shampoo and conditioner for colored hair...its great!
tressemmea
darci - shampoo for your color, condition for the texture
Sunsilk they have different kinds...for curly...dry...greasy...they will work
find one at the store and read what it says
I am the same way - curly and colored - I use pantene color treated. But once a week I use neutrogena clarifying and deep conditioning conditioner.
use Fructus. I have naturally curly hair too and it works!
baby jonson shampoo
pantene or head shoulders
Ive had great reviews on pantene or herbal essences ;) either that or check out the citre shine line... if you want to experiment check out the suave shampoo lines... the ones that use similar ingredients to the expensive champoos... gdluck!
Well my mom uses this orange shampoo bottle and conditioner. i think it is called matrix..... i cant remember. and my family uses pro-v

I bleached my extensions from a dirty blonde to platinum, the hair was dead so I used Sammy beyond repair conditioner and now it feels soft again. like normal hair. Report Abuse

What is the best shampoo to use to make your hair grow longer?
No matter what kind of shampoo I try my hair never grows! Can someone please help me?What is the best shampoo to use to make your hair grow longer?
The simple answer is that shampoo has nothing to do with IMPROVING hair growth, however the overuse of shampoo can damage your hair by removing the oils that make it supple.
When I say oils, I am not talking about leaving your hair oily - I am talking about the oils that are naturally in your hair strands that allow your hair to remain supple. Once those are stripped by shampoo overuse they don't tend to return to the hair strand. Without that natural oil, your hair can become quite fragile, and can break off at the ends with even simple brushing making it appear as if your hair is not growing.
If you want long hair, be prepared to take good care of your body. Eat well, sleep well, stay free of disease, and avoid the sun, or perming, coloring, blow-drying your hair, or dragging a brush through knots. Use a good quality conditioner every time you shampoo, and shampoo less frequently.
The much longer answer:
There would be two reasons why your hair doesn't appear to be growing (besides having it cut!)
1. Your hair is being snapped off at the ends when you are brushing it. (dry or brittle hair, or pulling through knots)
2. Your hair is already quite long, and your hair follicles simply die and the hair strand drops out - which is a natural process, and can only be altered by becoming younger or augmenting your hormone production (menopause can affect hair growth).
You can't do much about the second reason, so I will focus on the first.
Hair is a protein. Overuse of shampoo, bleaches, perms, coloring, hairdryers, sun exposure, etc damage hair protein. Hair protein breaks down due to this damage, and the hair becomes brittle, so when you brush this brittle hair the tips of the hair literally shatter like glass, and fall away.
Your diet is also a factor. Illness is too. If your hair is quite long, and you got over a serious illness even some years ago, or you went through a period of not treating yourself well, the hair your body made at that time is still on your head, and is fragile. When it breaks off it can appear as if your hair is not growing. What is the best shampoo to use to make your hair grow longer?
the act of shampooing can help stimulate hair growth by massaging the scalp with your finger tips, making blood and nutrients move to the hair follicles
I agree Main and Tail is very good...but also you can take prenatal vitamins..
your hair can't grow from shampoos
all you need to do is be less stressful (if there is stress in your life) sleep more and be in the dark more then usual
hair Crack

What is the best shampoo and conditioner for dry, frizzy hair with split ends?
I am a white female with brown hair about 8 inches past my shoulders. I am planning on cutting it quite short for summer, but I still want to know the best brand of shampoo and conditioner from a regular store (Pantene, Tresemme, Dove, etc.) for my now long hair that is very dry and frizzy with tons of split ends all over? What is the best Shampoo & Conditioner for curly hair to help tame the curls without blow-drying?
I have long curly hair, and like it best when I blow-dry it straight, but I don't want to damage my hair too much.
Are there any products that work reasonably well to straighten hair or tame it down without the need for blow-drying?What is the best Shampoo %26amp; Conditioner for curly hair to help tame the curls without blow-drying?
I use Joico KPAK shampoo, conditioner and resconstructor once a week. (Walmart and Rite Aid sometimes has it as well as http://salonsavings.com/joico/ ) The online store has the best prices for the above products...
The difference between pro and supermarket shampoo's lies in the ph level as well as it being concentrated, using less is more, distributing through your hands first using a quarter size amount is all you need, I only have to buy twice a year.
The smoothing balm and styling elixer are awesome as well.
Leave in conditioners, INTEGRITY or Stregnthing Tonic applied before styling products will amaze you at the difference.
You will sucessfully tame your hair. The Joico smoothing balm is extremely helpful because its heat activated...

Good luck
I would recommend going to a salon and asking a professional stylist in person, so they can determine what is right for your hair.
my wife uses AVEDA products for her curly hair, I always see her hair magnetically attractive.

What is the best shampoo for really thin hair?
I have really thin, flat, damaged hair (split ends), and I want hair that is thick, volumized, and healthy. Do you know a great shampoo and conditioner for my hair? Any tips? Thanks! What is the best shampoo for really thin hair?
I am a hair stylist and have worked with many different people who have similar problems to you so I hope I can help you out! :)
My first suggestion is in relation to your split ends. The only way you can truly deal with them is to have your hair cut. You may only need a 1/2 inch to an inch taken off to really notice a difference. Once these have been taken away, your hair will already start to feel and look more balanced. Sometimes damaged ends can slightly weight the hair down and more so give the impression of a bigger volume at the bottom, due to the splits, which can make the roots look flatter than they are.
The next tip I can give is to use a shampoo and conditioner that is mainly for every day use, and has a sway toward more nautral products in it, for eg chamomile or plant extracts, as these tend to be lighter in consistency and also won't weigh the hair down. If you tend to use more creamy shampoo's and conditioner's, they tend to have by-products in them that give the hair weight, thus flattening the hair strands and giving a shiny appearance but also a heavier feel and look, so my advise for your hair type would be to transfer to lighter solutions. I would suggest using conditioner every other wash, as this can have a dramatic effect on weighing the hair down more than it needs. It shouldn't make any difference to the overall condition of your hair if you have your ends cut and keep them regularly trimmed :) You should notice the real difference after the first trim and about four shampoo's in.
Also, as one of the other answerers said, a beer rinse, or an egg white rinse, are very effective ways of boosting body in to limper hair.
For the egg white rinse, separate 3 large eggs from their whites and yolks, discard the yolks then mix the egg whites with enough water to make it pourable. Pour over hair. As you pour, do it gently enough so that you can work the rinse in to the scalp. Concentrate on this more than lengths and ends, as it will get to the root, haha, of the problem, sorry for the pun. Leave for 2 mintues, then rinse out with lukewarm, tepid water. Don't make the mistake of using warmish or even hot water, as you will develop a meringuy souffle on your scalp! lol :)
For the beer rinse, before you shampoo, grab a can of beer and pour in to a glass or big cup.. allow this to go flat and warm before you progress to the next step.
Shampoo you hair and rinse as usual, then grab yourself the flat beer and pour gently over your hair, again concentrating on the scalp more than anything else, work it in to the roots with your fingers, as this will boost the roots in to life, and may get them tipsy and therefore happier, lol.. joking of course. My hair styling jokes get more groans than giggles, ha. When you are done, rinse with cool water until the odour has gone and you should have a little more bounce going on :)
I would recommend using the homemade rinses alternately twice a month. The beer rinse one week, then the egg rinse two weeks after and so on.
If you use styling products like mousse, gel etc and apply directly on wet hair, allow the hair to dry out a little first, maybe by lightly towel drying, then apply the products. I say this as the product will be too dissolved to be of use when the hair is sopping wet, and therefore you will need to use more, which will weight the hair down. By leaving the hair to dry a little first, you will use less than before and keep the bounce you will be starting to develop :)
So, I think that is all, haha. I wish you the best of luck and many great hair days. What is the best shampoo for really thin hair?
You're so welcome :) I really do hope it does the trick for you, and I wish you much luck on your quest for bouncier hair! All the best x Report Abuse

If your hair is damaged, you have to go to a beautician and have her remove it.
You can them maintain the hair using Garnier or Pantene. Keep in mind that nothing will fix your hair outside of a beautician.
Nick Chavez hair products are the best.
Trim off the ends and try Pantene Full %26amp; Thick shampoo or Sunsilk for flat hair....it's in a goldish yellow bottle. Keep the ends clipped off until all the damaged hair has grown out. If your hair is think, it won't ever be thick. Let it air dry if possible. Don't use curling iron if you don't have to. Good luck.

All the best x Report Abuse

there is a garnier pro-volume shampoo, and Sunsilk has good ones too.

Good luck.
What is a good shampoo that won't strip the color in my hair but will get rid of the product build up?
I use a lot of products because I straighten my hair, but I also color it. I do not want the color to be stripped out. I use the shampoo Matrix right now, but I do not feel it gets rid of all the build up. Even after I wash my hair it still feels like it has products in it. Thanks for the help! What is a good shampoo that won't strip the color in my hair but will get rid of the product build up?
Neutrogena Anti-Residue ShampooWhat is a good shampoo that won't strip the color in my hair but will get rid of the product build up?
well this will sound gross and i honestly dont know if this is good for color treated hair but try using white vinigar to get rid of build up dont make it an everyday thing i guess and i guess you shouldnt totally submurse your hair in the stuff either i dunno sorry
i use sunsilk it smells soooo good! so try that!
Try using a color safe shampoo . But i think biolage has a line for color but still will clean your hair well. Go to a salon that sells that and see what you can find. Good Luck
The absolute best is the new brand called Organix. It has organic active ingredients and is sulfate free so it wont dry out your hair, plus...it smells awesome! They have different collections for different hair types which are all amazing! You can get Organix at Target, Kroger, Albertsons, Duane Reade, Safeway, etc. You'll love it!!!

What is the best shampoo for greasy hair?
I have mid-length fine and thin hair. On the second day after I have washed my hair, it always turns greasy. Does anyone know an anti-grease shampoo and conditioner that actually works? Or any other remedies? What is the best shampoo for greasy hair?
I have the same hair type as you and I tried all sorts of shampoo and none worked for me.
Washing hair more than twice a weeks bad as well.
Someone told me to buy dry shampoo ( i'd never heard of it ) so I got some from my chemist. Its excellent. Now I wash my hair twice a week or even just once a week with water and shampoo and in between washes, I use dry shampoo. My hairs growing faster ( don't know why) and seems a lot healthier.
Here's a link but you can get it at most chemists for about 拢1.50 - 拢2
http://www.asos.com/Batiste-Tropical-Dry鈥?/a>What is the best shampoo for greasy hair?
Try Neutrogena庐 T/Gel庐 Shampoo for Greasy Hair. It works absolutley brilliantly. I used the one for dandruff and after 1 week of using it my scalp as clear and iv never had the problem since.
The Tail %26amp; Mane products do work well.
One thing you must try is so-o good for your hair %26amp; cheap too is a natural remedy.
After washing and conditioning hair, (only ends and not scalp)
drench your hair in vinegar. It's amazing. It will strip your hair of build ups like beauty products, oils, pollution, etc..Your hair will shine and look healthy.
I also asked a similar question to this yesterday.
One of the helpful answers was to use baby powder on your scalp which absorbs the oil on your scalp.
Do not use head and shoulders as it is for hair with dandruff = dry scalp.
I use Herbal essences which I think is pretty good. I keep from putting conditioner anywhere near my scalp. Only condition the length of your hair.
My hair is the same, i have greasy hair and have to wash it every 2 days. I like head and shoulders for greasy hair. Ive yet to find a shampoo that keeps your hair clean for longer than that.
A shampoo with tea tree oil or you can mix some into the shampoo you already have. But be careful though its super strong so I would look up home remedies and find out exactly how much to use if you should decide to try it.
Buy Wella Lifetex! It's great! Seriously, cause I have greasy hair too and I used to use it and now my hair is non greasy.
the head and shoulders one for greasy hair
its like a lemony one i think
vaguely remember it, works really well and smells gorgeous too

only use a dollop or a little more of conditioner, since its so thin u don't need so much as thick haired girls. pantene, suave naturals or V05 are all good and cheap, pantene being most expensive
I would recommend head and shoulders,if that doesn't work just see your hair dresser, they may be able to recommend something.
The horse shampoo..there are a couple of different varieties in the shampoo isle. Its usually away form the regular ones..i know it sounds weird, but it works great
dove conditioner or apply lemon juice for 20 mins.
The cheapest will do fine. Shampoo manufacturers' claims are a con.
johnsons baby shampoo
Voseen.
T-Gel Total killed my scalp a little bit!
Vichy Dercos works out perfectly nowadays for me...tryit!

Vosene is good, gets my hair squeaky clean.
NO MORE THAN TWICE AWEEK.
You should try Clinic All Clear.
You just got to get used to it, its part of being Mexican.

What is the best shampoo to use regularly?
I have also been having a dandruff problem for about a week, so what's the best anti-dandruff shampoo? What is the best shampoo to use regularly?
well pert plus is always a favorite of mineWhat is the best shampoo to use regularly?
The best shampoo to use regularly is the one the your hair stylist or barber recommends for you hair. This is something you should ask the person that takes care of your hair.
i have used sauve for years..i love it and they have a dandruff product also.
Head and Shoulders helps moisturize your scalp and eliminates 100% of dandruff
Keto.....u can get it in a drug strore, about 5 dollor it comes in a small bottle but it really work, and you can use it every other day...
Try a anti-dandruff version of Garnier Fructis, that stuff works good. I'm sure there's one available.
Paul Mitchell makes some great products. Their Tea Tree shampoo is great for dandruff. Talk to a professinal stylist, they can recomend the right products for your hair type.
aussie mega they leave no build up so can be used twice a day if needed
I have always used Aveda products and they have a product for most everyones type of hair. Shampure is a good everyday shampoo W/ rosemary mint for a conditioning after the shampoo. You could check it out at aveda.com. Hope this has helped.
It is not good to use any shampoo regularly. You should switch every couple of months. It depends on what kind of hair you have depending on what shampoos are better for you. Using the wrong kind, could be why you have dandruff. Try changing shampoos and if that does not work. Try Head and Shoulders.
Aveda's Scalp Benefits shampoo %26amp; conditioner will help to balance the oils from your scalp to the hair and keep it nice. DO NOT use a ';dandruff'; shampoo as they dry the scalp to keep the dandruff away and your body in turn says ';scalp is dry, make more oil'; and thus starts the vicious cycle so many people are stuck in. Also, you do not want to wash your hair more than once a day, rinsing is fine if needed, but not shampooing for the same reasons as above.

What is the best shampoo and conditioner for Maltese and Yorkie puppies?
i like bio groom or earth bath, oatmeal shampoos are a lot more gentle on their skin. there are specific puppy shampoos but stay away from cheap stuff like hartz. water down the shampoo as you only need it to sudds up in order for it to clean. it makes it a whole lot easier to massage into the coat and rinsing it out is easier as well. after your done bathing be sure to rinse your pup off really well with fresh water and any soap residue can irritate their skin and make them very itchyWhat is the best shampoo and conditioner for Maltese and Yorkie puppies?
I don't know much about small dogs, but I do know that bathing dogs gets rid of the natural oils in their coats which can take away the water resistant and weather resistance.
EDIT: Actually I do no what I'm talking about. And Mrs B is right, long haired dogs do get mattes easily. And if I wans't being helpful I wouldn't have told you that washing a dogs coat gets rid of the natural oils. What is the best shampoo and conditioner for Maltese and Yorkie puppies?

I need some brands that will allow me to keep my red color longer. Anyone have great results with any particular brands? Thanks! What is the best shampoo for colored hair?
John Freida (sp*). He has a good red shampoo that has red dye or something in it to keep it lasting longer. But it depends on what hair dye you used. Something eccentric won't work with this shampoo, but if it's regular dye, like Herbal Essence, Clairol, Revlon (those brands) then it works great. What is the best shampoo for colored hair?
garnier fructis color shield is good i use it on my highlighted hair and it works really well

How do you prevent shampoo and such from bursting when changing to higher elevation?
Im going to colorado, and im packing shampoo, condition, face wash, and sunscreen. all brand new. How can i pack them so that they wont burst when the elevation changes? How do you prevent shampoo and such from bursting when changing to higher elevation?
I just got back from Colorado (I'm in the Seattle area). I had no problems with my toiletries bursting at all. I always make sure the lids are secure and put them in a zip lock bag incase they ooze.
In all my travels I've never had shampoo or anything else 'burst', only ooze a bit.How do you prevent shampoo and such from bursting when changing to higher elevation?
Well you could do what the first person says, or you could pack them in plastic baggies....that works best for me!
There is alway a little air in the bottle, just squeeze that out, then it has room to expand!! :)revlon color

What is the best shampoo/conditioner I should use if I swim in a pool every day?
I am a camp counselor and every single day I have to swim with the kids in a pool. I noticed very quickly that my hair is becoming very fried and not silky as it used to be. I use a deep conditioner once a week and it helps but I want to know if there are any other shampoos and conditioners that I can use between that time to help my hair.
Thanks so much for your suggestions! What is the best shampoo/conditioner I should use if I swim in a pool every day?
There are shampoos for swimmers like Ultra Swim but they aren't that much more effective than regular shampoos just more expensive. How to keep hair full of moisture:
1. Wear a silicone swim cap to keep water out.
2. Use a daily leave in conditioner after you swim.
3. Try conditioner only washing with your hair.
4. Rub a dab of hair oil in hands and comb through hair.
5. Blow dry your hair only with cold air.
6. Never towel dry your hair as it damages folicles and causes frizziness. What is the best shampoo/conditioner I should use if I swim in a pool every day?
well you should be using the deep conditioner everyday. and also depending on your hair type don't shampoo everyday. try every other day. shampoo contains an indredient like silicone that coats your hair. my hair is culry and dry already and I swimme everyday too. or you can get a special chlorine shampoo. what it does it is take all the chlorine out. it is kind of expensive but it does save your hair.
Ultra-swim works pretty well, but any anti-residue shampoo will get the chlorine out of it. But, you're going to need to condition your hair a lot more often, probably daily, even then...

What is a good shampoo and conditioner that will not only repair my hair but make it smell good?
Okay, at the moment I use bed head. It smells amazing, but I don't think it does what it is supposed to do. My hair is curly and frizzy. I want something that can tame my hair, take the frizz out, possibly handle the curl, and make it smell amazing. Sorry if this question is not very descriptive. Thanks. What is a good shampoo and conditioner that will not only repair my hair but make it smell good?
LOTS of shampoos and conditioners can fix this, but i suggest Herbal Essence (Garnier), as well. Do NOT use Pantene, it has alcohol in it which causes dandruff and more oilly hair. What is a good shampoo and conditioner that will not only repair my hair but make it smell good?
I use dove anti-frizz shampoo, conditioner, and leave in treatment. It smells good and it's the only thing that works for my hair! I switch it out with dove intense repair. My hair seems to do better when I switch back and forth like that.
When I want my hair to really really smell good I use Victoria Secrets So Sexy shampoo, conditioner, and detangle spray. It smells AMAZING! Get it when it's on sale though 3/$24. It works fine for every now and then, but I have to use the Dove to really tame out my curly frizzy hair.
**It's on sale now! lol!

use doo gro it will make your hair thicker, longer, stronger and much healthier.....and wash your hair with eggs, mayo, and avocado it will give your hair protein so it can grow and it will make it soft....and don't straighten your hair or it will get damage and start to get thin...try getting braids doo gro have this great oil that really makes your hair grow.....and trim your hair once a month so it can grow and get rid of split ends....and also try deep conditioning your hair that well help too...... if you want more Information do to www.doogro.com
Aveda Damage Remedy shampoo and conditioner. It is organic and works amazing, but it is really expensive. If you are willing to spend that much money, I must say, it does really last a long time.(buying the liters may seem to be expensive but if you only buy the 8 oz time after time it isnt such a good investment as buying the liters) Months. If you want something to help define your curls, try Aveda's Be Curly shampoo and conditioner, or just some of their products from that line. They work just as well. For a similar product less expensive than Damage Remedy you could get Aveda Brilliant shampoo and conditioner, my favorite.
My hair is extremely wavy and thick. I first tried Aveda's Shampure.(great for taming hair with a normal thickness) My hair was too thick for it. So if your hair is unlike mine, you may want to try this. It is also the cheapest shampoo (in price) out of all of the other shampoos I named.
Aveda is a salon shampoo and cannot be found in places like walmart and sam's club. I have also tried shampoos like Herbal Essences and Pantene. Trying them would be a step down from even your Bedhead products. (even tho bedhead smells really good lol)
Herbal Essence
They have different kinds of shampoos and conditioners for curly hair, frizzy hair, damaged hair, dyed hair, and straight hair. They also have different scents that make your hair smell amazing.
u shouldd use herbal essences. they have products for every hair type. but also you should put a deep conditioner in your hair a t least once a week and leave it on for at least 30 minutes. that should get rid of thefrizzz.

What is the best shampoo for just bleached hair?
Everytime I get my hair bleached, it fades within a week. I want to keep it as blonde for as long as possible. What is the best shampoo to use. I have tried everything and they all seem to strip it out within weeks, even if it says color safe.
Thanks! What is the best shampoo for just bleached hair?
The absolute best is the new brand called Organix. It has organic active ingredients and is sulfate free, soit wont dry out your hair, plus...it smells awesome! They have different collections for different hair types which are all amazing! You can get Organix at Target, Albertsons, Kroger, Duane Reade, Safeway, etc. You'll love it!
http://organixhair.com/What is the best shampoo for just bleached hair?
Have you ever heard TIGI? They have the best series for blonde hair. It is called DUMB BLONDE, and it is available in a salons. For bleached hair the most important care is conditioner. In TIGI s they have conditioner and shampoo for bleached hair. Bleached hair is very dry and needs moisturizers and thats why the color can fade away. The actual color isnt going anywhere but it looses its shine and it looks to you like the color fades. When you use conditioner it closes the top surface of hair, and when the surface is closed hair shines. Hope that helped:)
Try Shimmer Lights. It's a shampoo with purple pigments. Also, maybe it's not your shampoo that's stripping out the color -- maybe it's the conditioner. I always use Feria after color conditioner the first time I wash my hair after bleaching. You can get a tube of it at Sally's for about $7.
Along with using a DEEP conditioner such as Purology, you should use something like Shimmer lites. Its a purple shampoo that will help you maintain that color. The blonde wont get Brassy or orange if you use this Shampoo. Use it along with your regular Shampoo and it will help Dramatically!
You can find it at nearly any beauty supply store

I also like to straighten my hair. Any tips to make it easier? My hair also gets oily pretty fast too. Any tips? What is a good shampoo for really thick hair to make it silky?
Bed Head is amazing! But good drugstore brands are herbal essences, garnier fructis (they have one called sleek and shine), aussie, pantene, tressame, and sunsilk. I know thats a lot but their all good. If you like straight hair, use herbal essences pink staight shampoo/conditioner. Then pantene has a cream for straight hair. What is a good shampoo for really thick hair to make it silky?
I use the Body Shop's honey moisturizing shampoo and conditioner, it smells amazing too and it works really well on making my hair feel amazing and look good.
I like Joico and Redken. I LOVE Bumble and Bumble!!!

What is the best shampoo to use for naturally frizzy, curly brown hair?
My hair's not super, super curly, but its enough. My hair isn't thin and it isn't extremely thick, its somewhere in-between. I'm looking for what I can use that would make my hair the healthiest. Even its something like head and shoulders, I do get dandruff often enough. I just want to know what the best shampoo to use. Also, conditioner and how often should I condition my hair, I tend to do it every other day when I wash my hair. What is the best shampoo to use for naturally frizzy, curly brown hair?
Well, my favorite conditioner is Aubrey Organics Honeysuckle rose. I get it at Wild Oats and it is really amazing. I think you should condition your hair everyday, but you don't have to shampoo very often at all, maybe once a week. On the off days you can use your fingertips (not nails!) to scrub your scalp with a cheap conditioner like suave naturals or vo5.

Once you find out your hair type you can find others with the same hair type and try out some of their favorite products.
Also, It has made my hair so much better since I started the curly girl method! I used to almost never wear it down (it was a frizz/poof ball), but now I have pretty, shiny curls. ~:) It鈥檚 pretty radical鈥攏o sulfates (shampoo) or silicones鈥攂ut it鈥檚 so great for curly hair. What is the best shampoo to use for naturally frizzy, curly brown hair?
Your hair sounds like it's just like mine. I absolutely love Nexxus' Therappe and Humectress shampoo and conditioner. My hair is soft, shiny, not frizzy! and I don't get dandruff. It works just as well as the bumble and bumble line, but it costs so much less and you can get it anywhere. I too shampoo my hair every other day, but I sometimes condition it as well on the off days if my hair feels especially dry that day. Hope this helps! ^.^
I have found it doesnt really matter the shampoo but it does for the conditioner. I use Tres Semme an thicker conditioner .
In between I use silk drops such as biosilk daily ( just a dab) to finger through my hair so it gets rid of the frizzies. I do so after my hair drys from washing and daily until I wash again which is every other day.
Regis Designline Hydrate Shampoo and a different, non-volumizing conditioner should work. I use them but I have straight hair. So, I had my friend, who has hair just like yours, try it and it worked like a CHARM.
Clear or Pantene its nice you can buy it anywhere

I really want to keep both colors looking great, but I have no idea what shampoo and conditioner (or any other hair product, for that matter) will do that. Any suggestions? What is the best shampoo for dyed blonde hair with lowlites?

What's the best shampoo and conditioner to bathe my puppy in?
I have a 7 week old Aussie pup that I'm going to start bathing once weekly. I'm looking for the best economical puppy shampoo and conditioner for her. Any suggestions? What's the best shampoo and conditioner to bathe my puppy in?
Just get a puppy shampoo (or regular dog shampoo) from the pet supply store. One that has oatmeal in it, to keep the coat soft and shiny. No need to bathe her any more than every 4-6 weeks. *NOT* every week, you'll dry out your puppy's skin! Skip the dog conditioner at this point, too... if your pup is on a good quality kibble, you shouldn't need it.
In between baths, just brush her regularly to keep her coat looking good, and to stimulate her natural oils, which will help to keep her clean. If she gets muddy paws or a little dirty, you can use ';dog wipes'; or regular baby wipes for quick clean up jobs.
Good luck :DWhat's the best shampoo and conditioner to bathe my puppy in?
I don't think a puppy should be bathed that often. It will dry up the natural oils in the coat and can do more harm than good. It can cause the coat to become dull and scurfy. If the puppy is a little strong in the doggy odour department, you can purchase an ionic pet brush. You flick a switch and as you brush, the coat is bombarded with negative ions, which get rid of the bacteria that causes the smell. The dog doesn't feel anything other than the brushing and you don't end up eating soap. It is called a dry bath, and is much better for the coat and skin. I don't bath my dogs and they don't smell. Unless your pup rolls in something nasty, he should not be bathed weekly. IF, on occasion he needs a bath, then something containing aloe vera will be soothing and gentle.
What ever you do, do not use any of the shampoos found in your local pet store. Not only are they extremely strong and can cause skin irritation to you puppy. The best shampoo to use is, believe it or not, its baby shampoo, not only is it extremely mild but will not harm the skin or eyes. It鈥檚 good for you and your puppy.
Don't bath your dog on a regular basis, it dries out their skin and makes them itchy. I wash my dog with warm water (no shampoo)after a muddy walk and I rarely bath her. I have a shower attachment in an outbuilding and I pretended to shower her when she was a baby, consequently she is not worried about being cleaned almost every day in the Winter.
When I sink my nose into her coat, she smells sweet and so does my house.
I like DVM Pharmaceuticals which isn't cheap but one bottle will last you forever (I use HiLyt). There is no reason to bath your dog every week or even every four weeks. My dogs get bathed once or twice a year tops. They don't stink and they don't feel dirty as long as you keep them brushed out and have them on a decent food.
Once per week is TOO often! If she's a house dog and not coming into contact with filth on a daily basis, she should be bathed every four weeks or so. Her skin will dry and flake if she is bathed too often. Use a mild, puppy shampoo that is tearless. You can find an economical brand at the pet store.
i agree that once a week is too much but as far as shampoos here is what I recommend: Pet Aromatics - they are oatmeal based and don't strip your pups natural oils as much as the chemical ones do.
Really anything oatmeal based is better

If you keep your dog regularly brushed you don't have to bathe him/her but maybe one to two times a month. Brushing keeps their coat shiny, keeps them from matting and they will learn to like it. Invest in a good brush. I don't know how much they shed but if they do it will keep down on excess hair in your house.
Human baby shampoo. It is the best when it comes to tender skin of a small puppy. Even large or adult dogs can be shampooed with it. If you use something stronger you will need the conditioner but not with baby shampoo.
I use PearLyt Shampoo it is Soap-Free Conditioning Formulation with Oatmeal and Brightening Agents in it. It seems to work really good. It helps a lot from getting dry skin it keeps it moisturized.
We always used Johnson's baby shampoo as its cheaper than dog shampoo and does the same job, also as its for babies it doesn`t irritate the puppies skin.
I think probably so flea and tick kind of shampoo. And some conditioner that smells good. A little bit of both

You have more of a problems then just weak hair. If your nails are splitting and breaking, you need to start looking into improving your diet and vitamin intake. It sounds like your body is in disrepair, not just your hair and nails. What is the best shampoo and conditioner to use to repair my hair?
pantene pro V
you have to try Dove shampooing
Hmmm... ive seen that happen to many of my friends..
1st of all u need to cut ur spilt ends,
2nd it doesnt matter how many times u dyed ur hair, u need to take care of it, go n buy different kind of hair oils like coconut oil, snake oil, rosemary oil etc.. just dont buy brand oils they got perfumes so it makes ur hair smell nice but yet still need repairing.
3rd thing u should do is eat lots of fruits and vegitables..
4th is what i like the best try homemade masks for ur hair...
here is some i use myself:
1) to prevent split ends use:
Oil your hair twice a week with coconut oil mixed with fresh lime juice...
2) if u felt it dry use:
Mix 1 tablespoon of honey in half cup of full cream milk. Massage on the scalp and leave it for 15 minutes. Wash with a mild shampoo.
Put on ur hair mayonnaise, Wrap the head with plastic wrap, 15mins then wash it off.
3) Beautiful Gorgeous Hair Mask use:
After you shampoo your hair, pour 1 cup fresh lemon juice or vinegar through hair and massage and rinse with water. Apply your usual conditioner and wash with water. It will remove all the dirt and your hair will be shiny sparkling. Do not repeat this method before 2 weeks.
4) for damaged hair use:
Mash a ripe banana with a few drops of almond oil and massage into hair. Leave it for about 15 minutes. Rinse with soda water and then shampoo and condition.
or use:
2Tablespoon olive oil, 1Tablespoon honey and 1 egg yolk. Mix them well and put on ur hair, wrap ur head with plastic wrap for 30mins,
wash off with water 1st then shampoo it and condition it...
use this method once every month...
about ur nails they seem not strong ur body needs lots of calcium and vitamins, dont think of biting ur nails if u do u should stop.. then u need to go to the saloon or beauty center and ask them for nails stronger coat, or nails oil with vitamins.. that should work well ...
You could try Matrix fortifying shampoo and conditioner. It helps to repair damaged hair. I am a hair dresser and I have seen the results. Amazing!!
I like using Anti-Frizz spray glosser once hair is dry (no blow-drying!), right after shampooing and conditioning, and the day after I wash. It helps to protect the ends. use Garnier Fructis range for dry hair
Nexus Therappe shampoo and Humectress conditioner.
I agree with the previous answer, Aveda Sapp Moss rules! However, be careful not to use too much of the conditioner at one time, it can leave your hair weighed down and greasy in appearance. It is the best detangler so that when you are combing your hair after shampooing you are not causing more damage as well.
Aveda Sap Moss Conditioner and Shampoo
The shampoo makes your hair clean without stripping it and adds moisture. The conditioner is a detangler that's uber-moisturizing to your hair.
Buy Garnier Fructis,I love both the shampoo and the conditioner. And for the nails, buy nail stenghtener that contains calcium

Oh, and don't throw away the shampoos and conditioners that you don't like! I was thinking that you might want to check out Clean The World ( http://www.cleantheworld.org ) and perhaps send your used shampoos and conditioners to them via Central Care Mission. I'm a big fan of good hair products, but any that don't suit my fancy, or the tail ends of the shampoos and conditioners, get sent to them to help prevent disease and death in Third World countries.

I have flat straight hair and I won't a shampoo with conditioner to make my hair shiny, lucious, and bouncy!!! PLEZ HELP ME!What is the best shampoo and conditioner for dark brown hair?
i have dark brown hair i use garnier fruties n sunsilk people compliment me all the time! =]What is the best shampoo and conditioner for dark brown hair?
herbal essences- totally twisted. it helps bring out your natural curl and bounce
or you could try. john feida brilliant brunette to enhance the brown tones in your hair
go to a hair salon and ask for a shine and volume shampoo and conditioner also do a moisture treatment at least 2/week then you will have lots of shine , as for the bounce put some rollers in your hair and take them out just before you walk out the door and finish off with a shine spray,

Well, my hair is wavy/curly, but I would still recommend Pentene ProV Ice Shine. It makes your hair really silky and shiny and seems to give my curls more bounce.

go to a hair salon and ask for a shine and volume shampoo and conditioner also do a moisture treatment at least 2/week then you will have lots of shine , as for the bounce put some rollers in your hair and take them out just before you walk out the door and finish off with a shine spray,

What is the best shampoo and conditioner to use for hair growth and healthiness?
Salon brand or something you can get at Wal*Mart; I just need something that will keep my hair healthy and allow for growth. My hair is thin, so also any good thickening shampoos would be fine. What is the best shampoo and conditioner to use for hair growth and healthiness?
I also have very fine hair. I use Aussie Shampoo and conditioner. It doesn't weigh the hair down. Rusk makes a hair thickener that you spray in your hair before blow drying. I noticed a big diference when I forget to use it.What is the best shampoo and conditioner to use for hair growth and healthiness?

What is a good shampoo for men that helps to remove oil and grease?
I mean, to make hair less oily and less greasy? What is a good shampoo for men that helps to remove oil and grease?
Paul Mitchel Tea Tree is fabulous!!! I have very oily hair and skin, my mom is a cosmetologist and she sent it to me and I love it. It removes the grease without drying out your hair or scalp. What is a good shampoo for men that helps to remove oil and grease?
i have that problem too. I found that shampoo isnt very harsh and has like, a million moisturisers, which is something that you really dont want! So use body wash, if that doesnt work then hand soap, then if THAT doesnt work then dish soap. If youre hair is STILL oily then go to a doctor. But this is a quick fix though, it can lead to hair damage and an oily scalp after using it long term. So i would recomend head and shoulders.
the sunsilk one in the light blue bottle it says something about your hair staying fresh for longer, i dont know but iv tried it and it works :)

kerastase, it might be a bit pricey but if you really want something that actually makes a difference (I have curly hair too). kerastase.com then go to their elasto-curl products

I would say Sunsilk the pink one....it helps keep shine and strength to your hair while still keeping it soft!
I think the best shampoo for you is Pantene-Blonde expressions
