My hair has always had a problem with breakage, but recently it has been a lot more than usual. It's probably because I dyed my hair from a box instead of going to the salon.
Please recommend from personal experience. What shampoo and conditioner should I use to stop hair breakage?
As Tickle Me Amy stated, Redken is a great haircare line. I personally use Nexxus. They have a great moisturizing line. You don't have to go to a salon to get it, you can get it at Walmart, Target, CVS. Also, try not to wash your hair too often and cut off those splits before it splits on up the shaft of your hair. There is no product that will mend split ends (the products that say they do are lying). What shampoo and conditioner should I use to stop hair breakage?
I think you should use the Vo5 hot oil weekly intense conditioning treatment. I suggest someone on here a little bit ago to use it.
I have a lot of breakage on my ends and I constantly lose handfuls of hair from my ends while I'm shampooing. But this helps a lot.
Here's what to do:
Take a towel and throw it in the dryer so it'll be hot for when you need it.
Then take a plastic cup and fill it up with hot water (as hot as the tap will go) and leave the tube of the hot oil sealed in there. Leave it in there for about 1-3 minutes just as long as the water in the cup is still hot.
Then wet your hair with warm water and squeeze it.
Take the tube out of the cup of water and squeeze some into your palm and rub your hands together.
Massage into your scalp and your roots but make sure you do your ends really, really good. (Obviously that's where breakage comes from.)
Then get the hot towel and wrap it around your head and leave it on for 10 minutes. (or 15-20 depending on how much damage and dryness you have.)
And after waiting around patiently lol go wash it out.
I would try Redken Reconstructive shampoo and conditioner. They really do the work! It's a little more pricey but if you don't want damaged hair.. I'd shoot for it! You can find these now at Target or Sallys, or any beauty salons!
